Music Therapy “Spa for the soul:” This is a store display where people could come for a relaxing spa for their soul. They could come in for music therapy sessions and get special advice on how to treat problems such as stress, tension, depression etc. with music. The store will have bubbles which would have mood couches on them. When a person has spoken to a therapist he would be suggested a playlist, which would be played for him in the bubble. Once the customer has gone into the bubble, the bubble will float up to the ceiling of the store and get attached to a magnet.
This would be controlled by a remote and as soon as the bubble gets attached to the ceiling it will become translucent so the person can relax. The idea of the bubble getting lifted to the top signifies that the person’s life state is getting elevated. Plus he will be out of the direct vision of other customers. The transparent bubbles on the floor will attract attention and people who are unaware of this service will be tempted to try. The bubbles will be fitted with small speakers in the walls and will have a mood couch inside. The mood couch is like a big beanbag, which could be used in any way either to sit or to sleep.

HMV MUSIC THERAPY STORE

Aim: To plan an expert service retail experience for the target audience of HMV and to provide an experience which is different from an online experience. Since music is something people these days prefer downloading online, I wanted to come up with some experience that would motivate customers to visit the store.

Criteria:
Target Audience: HMV’s target market spans the middle and high level income group of the general public as they offer music, movies and accessories that cater to different age groups with musical genres and artists from different times in musical history. They are able to cater to both the older age group as well as the younger generation with their vast range of merchandise. More specifically, HMV targets music lovers willing to spend their income on music CDs rather than downloading their music. They are able to do this by providing reasonably affordable prices.
