I had to glue many layers of leather together to make the soles.
I put a 1/4'' thick piece of cork on the heel of the sandals for added comfort, I had to sand it on a belt sander to make it taper appropriately.
My heavy duty, cast iron, crank action, sewing machine had no problem sewing through the six layers of leather that made up these sandals.
I used multiple kinds of conditioners, and cleaners to make the upper layer of leather softer, and more durable.

Sandals: Made-by-hand

My goal for these sandals was to simplify the design by making the sole and straps out of the same piece of leather.
