The YPSOS helmet is Bolle's first dual certification ( CE EN 1077 & CE EN 12492) light weight alpine ski helmet. This project began with in-depth research consisting of user interviews, use case scenarios, & helmet certification requirements. Once completed, 2D sketches and initial 3D models were explored. Once a final direction was solidified with the internal team, development with the vendor began. Numerous 3D prints were created and fit tested to further refine the design and lock in the helmet feature set. The dual construction of EPP and EPS was key to achieving a light weight dual certified alpine ski helmet.
