Balaeno
Balaeno began as a challenge to design a piece of flat pack furniture which could also be modular and interactive. The inspiration for the design came from examining the skeletal structure of the Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus). I found that the vertebrae and rib bones of Blue Whale skeletons could be articulated to create a variety of forms which were suitable for furniture.
