Spotlight Serving System

The Spotlight Serving System was developed as a part
of a large-scale cafeteria redesign at the Academy for
Global Citizenship in Chicago, IL. The project sought to
design a new mealtime experience for the students at
AGC. The Spotlight System made several qualitative improvements
to the lunchtime experience by:
Giving the kids more time to choose their meal items,
as well as giving them more time to spend at the table.
Balancing the attention given to each food item served.
Increasing opportunities for positive adult-child interaction
to make lunchtime a more fulfilling experience
for the lunchroom assistants (LRAs).
