Independent contractor for various companies on a project-by-project basis as needed. * Working alongside Design, Art, Production, and Product Development teams on development of Men's, Women's, Juniors, Young Contemporary, and Kid's private label and licensed apparel for various retailers including: JC Penny, Walmart, Kohls, Forever 21, Target, Burlington, Dillards, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Bloomingdales, Fred Segal, Neiman Marcus, Lucky Brand, Rip Curl, Tommy Bahama. * Trend researching, creating vision boards, color pallets, swatch books, sketching new bodies that follow current and future trends. * Creating tech packs and line sheets for development and production. * Communicating w/ both local and overseas venders for various needs such as: fabric and trim sourcing, wash, dye, and embroidery development. * Working with sample room team in development of 1st proto samples and duplicate samples. * Providing creative direction to graphic artists in order to develop prints that will elevate the collection. * Approving lab dips, fabric and trims, first proto through production fittings. * Receiving, organizing, and tracking garment samples to ensure company needs are met throughout.

Young Mens, Juniors, Boys, Girls * Garment development and design that meets design visions coherent with market trends while maintaining margin/cost parameters. * Creating and maintaining product development logs, line sheets and organized swatch libraries with detailed information such as fabric names, content weight and fabric codes. * Working alongside Product Development Team on multicultural marketing, licensing and private label development. * Assisting pattern makers throughout fitting process from first fit through TOP. * Strong follow-up & consistent communication with overseas vendors to translate all details from design into understandable, accurate and comprehensive technical packages, including art, fabric, trim, fit approvals, lab dips and comments. * Supervision of Design assistant and Sample Coordinator ensuring samples are successfully executed under strict deadlines. * Monitor calendar deadlines and workflow with design team, coordinate local send-outs, and releasing patterns for duplication and yielding. * Attending trade shows and presenting line to potential clients.
