Job Description


The Art Director’s role is to conceive, design, and collaborate—and develop concepts that transform a great idea into a visual masterpiece. The Art Director is able to marry a deep understanding of fundamental design principles with thorough attention to detail.


Take ownership of projects
Facilitate team work sessions and check-ins on iterative progress
Supervise and give guidance to junior team members
Manage deadlines and resolve issues before they become crises
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow
Take initiative and be a self-starter
Lead collaboration across all departments when needed
Work with account executives to ensure project parameters are clear and actionable
Work closely with Creative Director/ACD to set direction of work
Adhere to existing brand creative/guidelines while developing new, unique creative
Focus work to solve defined problems, seize opportunities, and meet strategy and business goals
Make informed and timely decisions to help push the project forward
Attention to detail and accuracy: typography, color, design excellence, and more
Work within deadlines, communicate deadline issues in a timely manner
Be adaptable to changes and tight deadlines
Collaborate with creative and account teams to ensure deadlines are met
Give or respond to feedback in a timely manner
Revise work as needed or directed by Creative Director or client
Prepare files as specified by the production protocols


4-6+ years in a creative role in an ad agency or in a related area
A portfolio that demonstrates innovative and conceptual work across different media, including video
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an associated field
Client experience including the ability to present your own work and the work of others
Experience across all communication channels and a portfolio to back it up

Strong interpersonal skills
Unstoppable passion and drive; respectful and resourceful approach
Advanced knowledge of typography, layout, color sense
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Figma is a plus
Ability to work in MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT) and Google (Docs, Sheets, Slides); knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Keynote, Hightail, InVision, and Asana desirable
