The College Board, the national educational organization, is conducting a search for a Creative Strategist to support digital product initiatives. As a Creative Strategist, you will guide the strategy across various initiatives and develop user friendly interfaces for our audiences, students, and educators. You are a creative problem solver who identifies patterns across large systems, maintains sight of strategic priorities while diving into the details, and grounds big ideas in data. You react effectively to stakeholder feedback and research findings to enhance the efficacy of your design approach. At the same time, you can persuade stakeholders to act in favor of on-brand, user-centric design decisions, and demonstrate the impact of these decisions through thoughtful and compelling presentations and dialogue. The right fit for this role will be equally motivated to then collaborate in the execution of those ideas through design, prototyping, and delivering to meet deadlines.

What you’ll do
Lead and execute initiatives, finding new ways to motivate audiences with creative ideas.
Generate new ideas for how we can improve experiences and drive business outcomes for our audiences.
Contribute to the ideation, art direction, and design of our design standards, systems, and global UI elements.
Collaborate with Design, Content Engineering, and Product leaders to drive visual direction through digital experiences.
Develop strong stories to present and communicate design strategy to stakeholders, and team members.
Support research and audience validation efforts, to determine the success of your design approaches. Work with other designers to ensure brand alignment across teams.
Help foster an environment for collaboration by partnering with business and other creative units to align design approach with project goals, and the College Board brand.
A portfolio of your work included in your application.
7+ years of hands-on experience in design, interaction design, or art direction for agencies.
Advanced understanding of visual design systems, hierarchy, typography, aesthetics, illustration, and motion design.
Understanding of user experience fundamentals, and their impact on UI and interaction design. Understanding of the physical, cognitive, cultural, and social factors that impact design decisions.
Experience working within a distributed design team -collaborating with designers on different product teams to create a cohesive system that all can contribute to and pull from Sharp design sensibilities, critical thinking, and an eye for details.
Demonstrable experience designing for large-scale, omni-channel applications.
Experience crafting design specifications and leveraging presentation and specification tools like Zeplin. Fluency in creating visual content for mobile, responsive design.
Experience designing CMS driven websites, leveraging a design system
Mastery of industry standard design tools, e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, et al.
Experience in high-fidelity prototyping using tools like Principle, Figma, After Effects, or others.
Appetite for problem solving and a love for fast-paced, agile, iterative design environments.
Experience with, and interest in, mentoring and overseeing the work of other designers is a big plus.
Demonstrable experience working with video and motion graphics is a big plus. A great storyteller, both with words and visualizations.
Exceptional systems thinker and designer, with the ability to focus and deliver incrementally, but always keep an eye on the larger system design.
