Your role at Tumi: Designer, Men’s Design

We are seeking Accessory/Bag/Luggage Designer to join our Men's Design team based in our NYC design office.

This position will be responsible for designing and developing trend right, innovative, and elevated products for the Tumi customer from concept to commercialization. This candidate should be comfortable working with the team and multi-department collaboration, while maintaining a positive and optimistic attitude.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating innovative designs for new and existing collections. Additionally, reviewing all designs with designers, assisting in design presentation, creating technical drawings, as well as maintaining technical design from start to production for new collections as well existing collections. This position will also be responsible for maintaining specification changes, updating technical drawings as well as reviewing confirmation samples with product development and design. Conceptualize and design for Men’s product categories
Support design for Men’s collections at multiple levels
Support full price design initiatives from concept through production
Partner with Design leads, product managers and developers to create and maintain the Men’s collections.
Conceive and create design inspiration boards, concept sketch, cad, and produce technical specs through Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or by hand sketch to communicate ideas and develop product.
Create and maintain presentation documents in InDesign, PowerPoint, and multi-media presentations.
Present concepts and samples to Design leads and key internal partners.
Follow product through commercialization process, maintaining and communicating and changes.
Work closely with Design leads and the Creative Director to create new and innovative designs.


We're excited if you have:

The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of design experience with handbags, soft goods, small leather goods, luggage, and/or products. Bachelor’s Degree in fashion, industrial design or equivalent related experience is required. Strong organizational and communication skills are a must along with strong attention to detail. Is comfortable speaking and presenting to team leaders and cross functional partners. The successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter with demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and multi-task. Also, strong and expedient Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign skills to communicate concepts, create specs and presentations are required.

Salary range: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
