MKG is looking for a Digital Production Designer to join our team on a contract basis. This designer will be dedicated to one of our key clients. They should have proven professional experience working tightly within brand guidelines and executing final digital files. We are looking for a candidate with a strong mix of design and technical skills, exceptional organization and communication, and meticulous attention to detail.
MKG has offices in NYC and LA. Candidates are expected to live within commuting distance of either office and be present for collaborative, in-person work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
This is a contract position for a duration of 6 months, with potential to extend or join our team full time.
_Work in tandem with our internal Account team as well as our clients to understand requests and make plans for execution and delivery of design files
_Collaborate closely with account managers, video editors, developers and other designers
_Develop a deep understanding of our client’s brand guidelines or brand campaigns and be diligent in following them in the creation of related assets
_Correspond directly with clients
_Understand and implement digital file requirements / specifications for optimized quality (resolutions, color and size accuracies, CMYK vs. RGB, a vector or raster, material selections,
responsive design, etc)
_Lay out simple web and mobile pages and other digital communication assets such as emails, social posts and ads
_Lay out graphic storyboards and prepare assets to hand over to editors for video creation
_Create any assets and collateral related to virtual events such as lower thirds and speaker backgrounds
_Create simple icons or infographics
_Use creative / design thinking and problem solving to make decisions and troubleshoot issues
_Resolve any artwork issues that arise during production and check all provided assets to ensure nothing is missing and all are at the quality required
_Provide image retouching, clipping paths and additional image manipulation as needed
_Create presentation decks for client review and approvals
_Bring a strong point of view and suggest edits where work could be stronger

_3+ years (minimum) professional experience as a Production Designer or Graphic Designer
_Strong portfolio of design and technical work across
_Digital experience required, additional print experience a huge plus!
_Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign at minimum)
_Proficiency in at least a few UX/UI or web platforms such as Sketch, Figma, Invision, Adobe XD, Webflow, Splash, etc
_Basic knowledge of HTML
_Experience using Google Docs/Slides/Spreadsheets or similar applications for project organization
_Basic motion graphic / animation knowledge is a plus!
