Job Description

The Role:

The Industrial Visual Designer at PopSockets will be responsible for all visual assets from the Design team. Final deliverables are primarily Keyshot generated assets for internal and external placement. Some CAD creation is necessary for setting up render scenes, and for placing products in contextual situations. We are looking for an individual with a good eye for product design renders, that will strive to make our products look great. Candidates must have experience in Photoshop compositing of renders into photography, for lifestyle marketing and presentation shots. Should be self-driven, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This position is located on site in our new San Francisco studio, working with our ID team, and will report to the Industrial Design Manager and support our Sr. Industrial Design Visualizer.


• Execute Catalog, Online, Marketing, and CES Requests. 100% responsible for visual assets coming out of ID team
• Own and execute all setups for KeyShot rendering; focus on framework and templates that the rest of the organization can utilize
• Generate continuing library of Keyshot assets: develop and manage the graphics library, CMF library, and KeyShot library
• Completely organize incoming/outgoing assets - file naming, revisions, and upload to communal servers
• Render materials accurately according to ID specs and material samples
• Prioritize asset requests with teams, and self-manage time
• Post process renders when needed
• Composite renders into photographs
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand overall objective and fidelity of assets being generated


• Keyshot expert-level proficiency
• Photoshop expert-level proficiency
• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or equivalent
• 2+ years of hands-on CMF or industrial design experience, preferably with high-volume consumer goods, consumer electronics, or accessories
• Highly organized and process oriented
• Ability to switch gears and manage multiple asks at one time
• Proficiency with CAD tools (Solidworks or Creo preferred), and Adobe CS
• Strong sensitivity to form detail and surfacing
• Experience with different materials and manufacturing processes
• Desire to innovate and challenge the status quo
• Keen eye for composition, design details, and visual storytelling
• Animation capability is a plus
