Job Description

We seek an exceptional individual to join our talented, diverse, and passionate Industrial Design team. The successful applicant will have a thorough understanding of the concept and iteration process and be able to articulate ideas and solutions through strong visual and verbal communication. S/he will have a passion for working at the intersection of product, user, and environment - on a wide range of projects with a fun, creative, and collaborative team. The ideal candidate must be driven by an outstanding work ethic and embrace a growth mindset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
o Serve as a key contributor on a cross-functional team focused on Design and Innovation
o Strong progressive thinking, ideation, and iterative concept development consistently delivering valuable ideas
o Support and elevate the team’s ability to visually communicate concepts quickly and effectively
o Seamlessly progress concepts from sketch, to Solidworks, to rendered image
o Proactively investigate new technologies and techniques, which could enhance MFT’s processes and sustainable competitive advantage
o Research market and industry trends and participate in field research to identify user needs and translate them into feasible solutions.

Required Qualifications, Skills/Competencies:
o A degree in Industrial Design or related discipline
o 3+ years professional experience as an Industrial Designer
o Excellent conceptual skills and ability to rapidly ideate and describe concepts clearly.
o Demonstrated proficiency with SolidWorks, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
o Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and material properties
o Strong attention to detail, coupled with an instinct for experimentation.
o Self-motivated and enjoys collaborative problem solving
o Hand Modeling / Prototyping a plus
o Experience with GUI and product graphics a major plus

o Participate in quality assurance and business improvement activities, including training and improvement projects as defined by the organization.

Working Conditions: Work is performed largely in office and manufacturing environments. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week but may vary according to special projects, deadlines, or other concerns. Ability to lift 40-50 lbs. and a variety of postures (bending, stooping, etc.) when handling product while training or investigating technical issues. (REVISE AS NEEDED)
