Job Description
JANSON has an immediate need for an Industrial Designer. This is a full-time hybrid position with an expectation to work onsite at our Fairfax location 3 days a week.
This position requires a professional who can work successfully in a fast-paced customer environment and is skilled in all aspects of Industrial Designer. The ideal candidate will excel in a team environment yet bring forward a decisive personality to successfully engage with peers and senior government officials.
This position will be responsible for industrial design, facilities branding, and online design of client program materials. The individual will help oversee the file management and take design direction from the Creative Director. The candidate will have intermediate to advanced skills in 3D modeling software, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite. The candidate should be someone who has experience in built environments (museums, trade show exhibits, or interior spaces) and has SketchUp experience. Excellent time management, accuracy, self-motivation, and innovative thinking are essential.
JOB DUTIES:
Produce creative work and clean, tight production-ready drawings.
Understand the process of taking a design from initial concept sketches, through computer modeling and client refinement, to a final built and installed product.
Oversee and monitor jobs in production.
Have a high level of passion, resourcefulness, independent thinking, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Keep current on new technologies and establish/take advantage of learning opportunities and training for self and team.
Work with other designers in a collaborative environment to deliver creative products that get results for our clients.
Perform other duties as required or assigned, to support JANSON and/or the client.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or related field.
Minimum 7 to 12 years of experience designing museum Displays, Tradeshow exhibits, and/or Commercial Interiors.
SketchUp experience preferred.
Must be a self-starter, highly motivated individual that works well with a team and adapts to dynamic environment changes.
An excellent visual and verbal communicator and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Basic understanding of general construction methods and material usage for built environments & displays.
Understanding of Digital, Print and Web Design a plus.
Passionate about their work and results driven.

Strong client engagement skills and team player mentality.
Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
