Join our team as a Lead/Staff Industrial Engineer and support products you can feel passionate about!

Industrial Designers are responsible for conceptualizing, defining, developing and creating new products or upgrades to existing legacy products. The Staff Industrial Designer will identify and solve complex user problems with simple, elegant solutions. Primary focus is on the front-end design activities, including voice-of-Customer research, human factors, and aesthetic treatment. Design work will include: Ideation from 2D to 3D, creation of major configurations, physical and psychological interfaces with users, as well as labeling, artwork development and implementation.

Responsibilities we will trust you with:

Develops innovative, creative solutions to Customer needs individually, and in a team environment. Leads in conceptualization and development of new products.

Articulates product concepts and ideas through a variety of media, including sketches, renderings and 3D CAD models.

Leads design efforts utilizing input from the customer insights and strategy teams, taking into consideration manufacturing capabilities and limitations.

Participates throughout the New Product Development Process to maintain the integrity of the design from concept to production while incorporating the Mammotome visual brand language.

Supports Engineering and Manufacturing in problem solving and adapting designs to production.

Expert knowledge in various materials, electronics and manufacturing processes and can apply them to the design process.

Responsible for ergonomics and human factor of the design throughout the development process.

Advises on and participates in voice-of-Customer and usability studies.

Responsible for owning the Industrial Design process and how it incorporates into the overall New Product Development process.

Provides mentoring on all aspects of Industrial Design to less experienced associates.

Participates in cross-functional interaction on project teams

Collects and organizes background research in formative stages of a project

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Bachelor degree (BS) in industrial design (or related field equivalent)

Minimum of 7 years work experience in industrial design

Solidworks expertise and CAD rendering

Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier, InDesign, etc)

Design for Manufacturing and Injection Molding Processes

Medical device design experience preferred

3D Printing experience preferred

Travel:

Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time; both domestic and international travel may be required.

Typical work related travel assignments range 2-5 days, and as such overnight, out-of-town stays are required.
