The Department of Industrial Design, within the College of Design at Iowa State University is taking applications for a part- or full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. The successful candidate will be able to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level courses in Industrial Design. Courses may include, but is not limited to, industrial design theory, methods, materials and manufacturing processes, human factors, research, and sketching.
The Department of Industrial Design is one of seven distinguished departments within the College, along with Architecture, Art and Visual Culture (AVC), Community and Regional Planning, Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Landscape Architecture. Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, or equivalent professional degree in a related field;
Three years of relevant industry experience;
For a senior ranking, in addition to the above, candidates must have 6 years experience at an institution of higher education.
Terminal degree in Industrial Design;
Experience managing professional design projects, or mentoring junior designers;
University teaching experience
