Job Description

Glosten (equal opportunity employer) is looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Marine Designer. Your demonstrated interest in ships, boats, and all the unique challenges the marine industry has to offer will be important to your success.

Responsibilities:
• Work with engineers, naval architects, and other designers to conceive elegant, effective ways to address ergonomic and mechanical challenges.
• Create detailed designs presented in clear, concise, and accurate drawings, 3D models, or renderings.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on complex technical projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum Associate’s degree in design or a technical discipline; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in 3D CAD modeling
• Formal instruction in drafting, or equivalent experience.
• A portfolio demonstrating problem solving in a collaborative team environment.

Other Requirements:
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including presentation experience
• Good math and problem solving skills (including algebra, trigonometry and geometry)
• Able to work well under pressure
• Able to produce presentation graphics with Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent
• Understanding of design for fabrication and assembly

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Rhino 6 Drafting and AutoCAD
• Experience in 3D modeling with Solidworks, Blender, or similar
• Experience with rendering in Keyshot, VRay, or equivalent
• Animation and video editing capabilities
• Experience with programming or Virtual Reality
