Job Description

The MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER is a full-time position based out of our Seattle office (with hybrid options available) directly reporting to the industrial design manager. The person in this role will be responsible for bringing injection molded products and accessories to market. This includes molded computer and tablet cases, as well as headphones, keyboards, and accessories. You will work with an international team of talented designers, engineers, and factories to help translate design visions into product realities.

Experience Required:
• Bachelor of Fine Arts, BS degree specializing in mechanical engineering and a minimum of 4-5 years experience
• Proven track record of bringing injection molded products to market, on time and under budget
• Ability to review and generate 3D CAD designs (Preferably in Autodesk Fusion 360)
• Strong understanding of production processes and mold design
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Teams).
• Demonstrated organization and management of multiple projects at a time


Roles And Responsibilities
• Lead re-sourcing efforts in and out of Asia, improving quality and reducing costs
• Collaborate with the design team and factories on solving complex mechanical challenges in an elegant and effective manner
• Drive meaningful innovation through product enhancements and inventions
• Help adhere to, monitor, and update testing standards
• Explore new material and manufacturing innovations

About you:
• Must be a team player capable of collaborating in person and remotely across departments
• Are exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, and focused
• Passionate about consumer products
• Are able and willing to be in our Seattle based office at least 3-5 days / month

Ideal Candidate (Nice to have but not required)
• Master's degree in engineering or related
• Prior experience with consumer electronics and/or accessories
• Exposure in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to perform FEA analysis
• Experience with sustainable design and manufacturing practices
• Located in Seattle area
