Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Product Design Researcher at our Global Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.
The Product Design Researcher will organize and conduct collaborative end-user research, conduct interviews, ergonomic testing, comparative product analysis, creating, summarizing, and sharing presentations, and meeting, engineering, and marketing requirements to innovate new products. This position reports directly to the Industrial Design Manager. There are no direct reports to this position.
Organize, Conduct, Synthesize, and Present Qualitative End-User research throughout the Wahl Global organization.
Collaborate with Industrial Design, Marketing and Engineering, and other New Product development stakeholders to structure and organize an efficient Research Protocol road map, Consolidate Qualitative research, and articulate findings in a manner that can be easily understood both visually and verbally.
Summarize Qualitative research to form clear recommendations for future development in R&D, and NPD. Clearly define, and share insights, Opportunities & work with research team to brainstorm future applications.
Conceptualize compelling ways of providing new value and innovation for our end-users through close collaboration among Industrial Design, Marketing and Engineering teams.
Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and R&D teams to bring design to life through collaborating on solutions that deliver on the expectations of our end-users, from initial conception, ideation, to final production.
Analyze quantitative research for opportunity areas to dive deeper with qualitative field research.
Contribute to New Product Development efforts leading Stage 1 End-User research.
Prepare direct and meaningful visual presentations of our End- User research to present to our Global NPD Teams.
Collaborate with ID, Engineering, and Marketing groups to outline research plans.
Conduct and organize end-user research to ensure we develop products that meet and exceed customer needs.
Ensure Professional research etiquette with research teams.
Bachelor's degree in Anthropology and/or Industrial Design with 2-5 years of industry related experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Problem solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to integrate and work within a highly collaborative and diverse group of individuals.
Proficiency using Adobe Suite, PowerPoint, Excel.
Strong Organizational skills, and the ability to work on multiple ongoing projects.
Ability to model the Company's values of continuous improvement, innovation, and creating value for the customer.
