The Product Graphics Design Specialist is an integral part of BISSELL’s Global Consumer Design Team responsible for developing product usability graphics, branding elements & patterning as part of a cross-functional development team. They report to our Aesthetic Attributes Design Leader as part of a cross-category team who helps bring consistency and strategies to our product portfolio in partnership with Industrial, Interaction and CMF Design.
Product graphics are a key contributor to consumer appeal and satisfaction for BISSELL. To ensure these points, early phase concept development is focused on ensuring an intuitive design through the application of icons, instructional graphics and quick start guides, but also addresses product branding, naming strategies and feature callouts in coordination with marketing communication priorities.
This role requires a flexible mindset which can shift between early phase concept ideation, to the detailed documentation required for product launches, including the support of post-production changes. Product graphics projects run concurrently across a variety of product types and phases requiring a structured approach to work to ensure a timely delivery.
The Product Graphics Design Specialist is responsible for maintaining a practical knowledge of design trends, graphics application technologies & manufacturing processes along with product compliance regulations. They collaborate with cross-functional project teams through milestone meetings to confirm the feasibility of proposed concepts.
Collaborate with all Consumer Design associates, under the supervision of the Design Lead for Aesthetic Attributes, to help create and implement product graphics strategies.
Research and develop product graphics recommendations for branding, usability and aesthetics which fit BISSELL’s visual brand language and increase consumer appeal & satisfaction.
Create product branding, naming strategies and feature callouts in coordination with marketing.
Execute product graphics for new product development, sourced products, as well as line extensions of existing products at BISSELL.
Ensure that product rating labels are executed in adherence with regulations and BISSELL standards together with our compliance team.
Document graphic designs within graphic call-out forms (6 views) to bring clarity and accuracy for BISSELL’s manufacturing supplier partners.
Supports the continuous improvement of internal systems for standardization, application, and quality control for all product graphics artworks.
Closely communicate with key associates in project team & milestone meetings. (Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, Purchasing, Advertising, Marketing, Model Shop, CAD, and Patent / Trademark Administrators)
Contributes to building BISSELL’s consumer insights around industry and graphic design trends.
Coordinates with outside suppliers and consultants as required for prototype development.
Responsible for the application of product graphics on design intent prototypes.
Fosters a collaborative working relationship with development partners, leveraging Global Product Development (GPD) design reviews and milestone meetings to clarify development plans and communicate progress.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Travel will be required for this position as needed.

Degree minimum: Associates, BFA or BS degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, User Interface Design, or related design field.

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
