Job Description

The Product Manager will be responsible for managing key aspects of product development work including coordinating and executing development plans, driving brainstorming and development activities, conducting market research and helping establish development goals, building and maintaining product development procedures and processes, managing timelines and collaborating with internal and external teams. This position requires the flexibility to switch between development, design and project management tasks to complete objectives and ensure progress. It will also be a critical bridge between new product development, sales and customers. A successful candidate will be design focused, analytical, resourceful, team oriented, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. He or she will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities :
• Collaborate with the NPD leadership to develop new product development strategies
• Implement the product development strategy for softlines - from concept to launch
• Develop and implement product plans and strategies for new and existing product by analyzing and assessing market, product and competitive data
• Lead trends analysis, specification development, and product design
• Review and collaborate on product plans
• Investigate, document and share new ideas and uses for emerging technologies in product design and development
• Draft sketches and illustrations of potential products or enhancing an existing product
• Provide design solutions for both products and packaging
• Identify and analyze product opportunities in light of business model and target customers
• Gather customer research and develop insights
• Develop personas for target customers that align with marketing strategies
• Define and evangelize product roadmap
• Conduct product evaluations and studies
• Ensure product quality standards are being met on an ongoing basis
• Create accurate spec sheets for overseas production
• Administer detailed redirect to development team in Asia on production issues
• Participates in photography shoots, selection and re-touching process, including image selects suitable for email/external marketing, packaging, etc
• Participate in copy writing, including creative product names, taglines and text
• Engage in brainstorming sessions on product and brand development
• Attend Industry trade shows
• Participating in occasional customer meetings
• Other duties as assigned
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures

Minimum Experience required:
• A minimum of three years’ experience in product development
• Bachelor's degree or AA degree preferred
• Experience in apparel, home décor, or fashion is preferred but not required
• Experience supporting sales in customer meetings/calls is preferred but not required
• Strong background in fashion, fabrics/materials, and production processes
Skills Required:
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
• Proven ability to interact effectively and professionally with clients
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as appropriate
• Ability to establish priorities and multi-task efficiently while meeting strict deadlines
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment
• Team player with strong interpersonal and people management skills.

• Highly motivated, self-starter and able to motivate others.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in support of overall brand strategies
• Ability to travel within United States regular basis
• Ability to travel Internationally 1-2 times per year
• High proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Highly organized with excellent time management skills
Compensation: DOE
Location – This position will be based in either our Emeryville, CA or Lambertville, NJ office
