Job Description

Matter Made is looking for a production technician to join its team in Brooklyn, New York.
Your responsibilities include:

• wiring and assembly of all Matter Made lighting fixtures
• understand electrical basics in regards to lighting
• assist with inventory management and software
• maintain inventory for certain components
• work with design to improve components and the assembly process
• work with design on custom projects
• maintain an organized and clean work space
• act as a technical consultant for production and sales when needed
• hands-on assistance with showroom installations and trade events
• understand and implement quality control standards
• coordinate with the Production Manager to meet a production timeline
• constantly look for ways of improving our current collection
• travel for installation
• able to problem solve smart and aesthetic solutions
• work with Production Manager to build systems and coordinate logistics
• manage the flow of inventory by filling order bins with parts for each fixture needed

Your experience includes:

• 1-3 years experience in lighting production and assembly work
• solid technical proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Google Sheets
• understanding of materials, mechanical connections, wiring, powering LEDs, and manufacturing processes
• ability to read and understand production drawings
• experience working with UL to test for product listings is a plus
• effective time management, communication, and teamwork skills
• a self-driven personality that is able to take full responsibility within given timelines
• strong problem-solving skills
• enjoys working collaboratively and can both lead and take direction
• knowledge of and interest in the world of design
• experience with Rhino or Solidworks preferred
