MKG is looking for a talented and versatile Senior Graphic Designer to join our NYC Design team.
Please note this role is a 90-day temp to perm position.
As a Creative Agency specializing in Brand Experiences, each project is totally different from the next and with that the graphic scopes encompass a wide range of 2D needs, both digital and physical. The right candidate will demonstrate excitement, experience and flexibility in working across a multitude of project types as well as a curiosity for continuously exploring new approaches and executions.
The Senior Graphic Designer will directly oversee other members of the Graphic Design team. They will also work both independently and collaboratively (with both 2D and 3D designers) on projects at varying capacities—leading projects independently, leading projects collaboratively and supporting others on projects.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
-Have at least some experience working in environmental-related graphic design
-Have strong project management and delegation skills
-Be very knowledgeable in print processes for both large and small format pieces
-Have experience working directly with print vendors to spec printed needs and obtain quotes
-Have experience managing budgets pertaining to graphic elements
-Have experience overseeing the installation of printed large format graphics in a physical environment
-Have super strong graphic design & typography skills
-Have experience in working with, following and pushing brand guidelines
-Demonstrate a passion for staying on top/ahead of design trends
-Be able to come up with compelling original graphic themes and art direction based on creative briefs and concepts
-Be confident and articulate in presenting work (internally and externally) and offering a Design point of view
-Possess excellent organizational skills
-Ability to multi-task and manage several projects with various deadlines at any given time
-Have diligent follow-through on every aspect of the job
-Have the ability to work calmly and quickly under pressure—managing stress well
-Know when/how to ask for help
-Have stellar people & communication skills
-Be a self-starter
-Thrive in a collaborative and social environment
-Be able to create simple motion graphics/animated GIFS
-Have web skills (a plus but not a requirement!)
-Development of original identity systems and/or graphic directions for new campaigns or experiential properties
-Creation of experience/activation-related assets (print and digital) such as invitations, signage and wayfinding, environmental or vehicle graphics, infographics, collateral pieces, and branded giveaways, etc
-Visual design for digital interfaces such as touch screen games/apps, check-in screens, photo booth prompts, social media filters, micro-sites, various interactive concepts, etc
-Design and execution of print and digital media campaigns surrounding experiential activations
-Proposal deck design customized to various client brands for new business pitches
-Generating on-brand internal marketing materials across a variety of platforms such as our website and social media initiatives
-Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite
-Bachelors Degree in Graphic / Visual / Print Design, or a related field
-Any knowledge of After Effects, basic animation capabilities or experience with digital platforms is a bonus!
-Proven track record of creative execution with 5-8 years experience
-Have solid management experience, including at least one direct report
