Job Description

Committee for Children is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced senior UX designer to join our team! In this role, you’ll serve as an integral part of a product team creating user-centered designs for Committee for Children’s digital products. In this role you’ll serve primarily as the user’s advocate throughout the development process and ensure that excellent user experience is at the core of the product.

Primary Responsibilities Include

• Designing highly interactive user experiences in web-based and other digital applications across devices and platforms
• Conducting user research and developing user experience standards and requirements
• Using design thinking methods to inform product design decisions
• Developing flow diagrams, conceptual diagrams, and wireframes
• Building interactive prototypes
• Collaborating with developers, product managers, business users, and visual designers throughout the planning and development life cycle
• Working directly with developers to ensure designs are implemented as effective user experiences
• Guiding the early design process: conducting stakeholder interviews and interpreting business requirements to inform creation and prioritization of website content, features, and functionality


• At least 5–7 years of experience as a UX designer or in a closely related field
• Experience working with information and interaction architecture
• A strong online portfolio showcasing experience creating exceptional user-centered design solutions (workflows, prototypes, wireframes)
• Expert knowledge of wireframing and prototyping tools
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Outstanding overall communication skills (verbal, written, and visual) and ability to convey complex ideas to a variety of audiences
• Skillful at solving problems with enthusiasm and creativity using a hands-on approach
