Title: UX Senior Designer (Remote)

Department: New Growth, Innovation & Strategy
Reports to: New Product and Innovation Lead
Salary Range: USD 105K-120K
Location: Remote (US based Candidate)
Travel: Willing to travel 6 to 8 times per year.

WES is looking a UX Senior Designer who wants to join a new and growing team to innovate, lead, and execute the design of great products for international students, immigrants, and refugees. In this hands-on role you will work strategically and, on the details, to design the overall functionality of products that ensure a great user experience. You will be a part of the small and growing New Growth, Innovation & Strategy Team that has been formed to lead new product innovation work at WES. This role can be based remotely or in New York City, New York.

Duties included but not limited to:

Think conceptually to strategically to frame concepts based on user needs, technical specifications, and innovative opportunities
Identify key customer journeys and bring them to life with models of customer experience based on insights from analytics and user research
Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead intuitive user experiences
Bridge the gap between research insights and tangible concepts
Translate business requirement into compelling user stories and design inputs
Utilize low-fidelity, medium-fidelity, and high-fidelity prototypes across different states of the design process
Participate in the ideation process and work with the New Product Innovation Lead to recommend products based on consumer insights and user requirements
Collaborate with leadership and research to incorporate insights on the development of changing user experience trends into application design
Work cross-functionally with colleagues to resolve issues and achieve goals

Ability to think strategically while understanding the need to dig into the details and tactics
Hands-on Product leader who enjoys operating in the weeds with direct and adjacent teams
Skilled at collaborating cross functionally to scope, plan, innovate, conceptualize, design, and test
Desire to be a part of a team that is building a new, innovative approach in an established organization
Ability to adapt well to changes in an evolving environment


7+ years’ experience in product/UI design solutions based in completely digital environments
Deep experience designing complex digital products (mobile apps, software applications, physical product UI, connected experiences)
Mastery in one of the following / Excellence in the rest: UX Design, UI Design, Visual Design, System Design, Service Design, Content Design
Strong visual design, brand, and user experience instincts; ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently
Experience in a global organization, designing for customers in different geographies
Experience with design thinking methods and applications
Knowledgeable about Agile-based methods for product development
Knowledge of native app iOS and Android platforms
Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills to engage, inspire and influence
