Position Overview:
• As a Structural Engineer, this professional’s main objective is to create, develop and assemble corrugate design solutions for the Point of Purchase temporary category that meets the very specific needs of our 100+ clients. Requests will flow from Account Management (thru NetSuite) to the structural designer, who then works with a prioritized list. Hands-on interaction with our Conceptual Designers and Account Management Teams is critical, across hundreds of projects annually. Priorities change quickly, so the chosen individual must be flexible. Career advancement could include moves to Senior Structural Designer. The Structural Designer is a member of the DOD’s staff, which meets weekly. The chosen candidate will work out of Bish offices in Lake Zurich, IL. This work cannot be done remotely.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Engineering Point of Purchase displays using temporary materials per conceptual design
and client’s direction
• Operating, cutting, and assembling prototypes or pre-production samples using our Zund
CNC table
• Create, review, and approve design elements related to structure
• Understanding and translating customers’ expectations into a successful 3D working
sample
• Photographing displays for client review and create assembly instructions on final
production displays
• Optimizing material choices based on customers’ requirements and efficiency for cost
effective designs
• Timely and professional communication with co-workers
• Complete periodic projects such as file organization, show set-up, and all other duties as
assigned

Job qualifications include:
• Possess an understanding in Artios or Impact with a proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is
preferred
• 3D modeling and engineering in Solidworks a must
• Ability to render conceptual design is a plus
• Strong mechanical and structural aptitude are needed
• Solid written, verbal, communication, and organizational skills are needed
• Attention to detail and well-organized
• Willingness to collaborate and work in a team environment
• Solid skills in Outlook and willingness to work within NetSuite ERP system
• This individual should be a self-starter, able to work independently with minimal direction

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in structural engineering or related field is required
• 4-8 years’ experience in prototype development with a previous background in temporary
materials used in POP
• Experience in Point-of-Purchase, promotional merchandise, and custom store fixtures is a
plus
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work as an owner of the company, driven by total results
