SET THE COURSE

To collaborate, design and development a collection of swimwear and resort apparel from concept and art, to execution of product that will grow the business for Tommy Bahama and delight the Tommy Bahama guest.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE

Collaborates with VP of Swim, and Sr. Designer to design and develop each season’s product line as well as any special developments.
Research trends, address newness and big ideas that will drive volume and grow the business, and relevant to the Tommy Bahama brand.
Design swimwear and cover-ups/resort wear that is world class in quality and style.
Participates in seasonal concept building and competitive research to support design ideas that will resonate with the Tommy Bahama guest
Provide sketches and computer illustrations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Research concepts and development trim for swimwear and resort apparel.
Collaborate with technical design and vendors on design intent and construction of swimwear and resort apparel.
Daily communication with cross functional team (Including merchandising and wholesale partners, sourcing/PD), Asia office, and vendors.
Participate in maintain design resources such as product trims, and sample references.
Active lead and participant in product development meetings.
Prepare presentation boards and participate in presenting during milestone or development meetings
Mentor and manage
Flexible for other duties as needed to help support calendar deliverables and overall business.

ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design
Generally, 4-7 years of swimwear design experience
Apparel Design experience
Solid understanding of fabrics, details, trims, fit and construction of swimwear and apparel.
Understanding of Tommy Bahama lifestyle brand and guests.
Working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
Working knowledge of Excel and Power Point.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and manage
