The use of 3D printing allowed for the development of high complexity parts that are very difficult to make with more traditional processes. This meant that I had the possibility to include snap fits and cable guides on the inside of the parts. Also this was a great excuse to try injection moulding techniques to see how they fare with the limitations of this technology.

A magnet based mechanism allows free movement for the head and a very simple on-off system that eliminates the need for a power switch. The same metalic part that holds the head via the magnet is also part of the power circuit, albeit with very low voltage, this means that once the magnet is detached the light turns off.
