The year is 2065, the population has increased from the current 6 billion to well over 9 billion people, many of which are living in skyscrapers catering for thousands of people.
We have used our last drop of oil and turned to solar power to fund our digital age.
The amazon rain forest has halved, and the polar ice caps even more so.
With global warming and the population evermore increasing, fires have becomes the main concern, killing hundreds, trapped in burning through inhalation, unable to escape the dark, cramped conditions. This is a problem.
The inability to see, not knowing which way to escape, all the while suffocating on smoke…..But we have the solution...
I introduce the fire mask.
So how does it work?
Made from a fully morph-able material that can be molded tightly around anybodies face without the need of straps.
Using inspiration from Geckos the lining is able to stick and suction to any surface and deal with the heat and sweat from the user.
it links with smart thermostats, alarms and doors around your home and entire building giving direct feedback to your visual display and emergency services.
Multiple products can be stored in a safe location within the home like any fire extinguisher would be.
A visual areal floor plan map on the visual display can guide you to a safe location and let you know where others maybe be and what doors might be open or closed. It also alerts you of the danger points within the building.
The digital OLED screen allows you to see in any environment with its link to a thermal, sensory camera and a miniature on board computer system producing multiple screen modes to choose from, including; 3D mapping, thermal, normal and auto, depending on what environment you’re in.
3D mapping view (used for in complete darkness, infra-red signals can generate a mapped computerized version of the room to follow)
Thermal view (allows you to see the heat signatures within the room)
The on board computer is voice commanded.
The responses from the computer will be similar to more sophisticated software available from the current period.
We imagine that everyone will have there own personal 'Jarvis' that is unique to them and is built into every single device allowing you to log in to your own computer anywhere.
The fact that it’s linked up to an .. emergency network, tracking your location and updating you, informing you on what to do. And the fact that it’s computerised enables the services to cope with the high demands of people needing help, something that humans could never do.
All the data from you mask will be transmitted to a central intelligence computer.
All the date from individual masks will feed into an artificial intelligent computer to produce real time advice to users and firefighters as it can comprehend and analyse hundred/ thousands of pieces of data simultaneously.
All the data projected from the mask can be accessed by the emergency services to they can direct and help individuals.
.. Among this, our ambition was to create a fully maintainable, re-usable and recyclable product that can be serviced; allowing you to change parts, remould the material and reduce vast amounts of waste.
This product is for a dystopia, we hope we will never enter.
