Velux Competition - lightCYCLE

LightCYCLE is a composite sheath designed to transform the typically static skin of conventional high-rise buildings into a flowing, performative, and memorable surface.

The skin is designed primarily for light redirection, and achieves this task on two fronts: the conversion of direct sunlight into diffuse light while absorbing the thermal effects of direct insulation, as well as storing energy throughout the day to be repurposed into a polymer layer arrayed with LED studs at night, transforming the interior face of the building skin or the street-level into a pixel-map of light and darkness.
