The Eye

The Oculus at the World Trade Center Transportation Hub in New York City is without a true, unique identity. It competes with the nearby Fulton Oculus and the popular VR headset with a shared name, and the word "oculus" is difficult for people to remember and pronounce, especially if English is not their first language. So, after doing a little bit of research, I renamed and created an identity for the building, the Eye.

The logo and name were both inspired by the shape and symbolism of the building. Its location connotes a need for security, watchfulness, and the pillars of the building fan out like a set of eyelashes. The ads were made as a collaboration with the Tribeca Drive In, for which I also designed the logo and ads.
