University of Kansas Design Department
Opened in 1866, the University of Kansas is a comprehensive educational and research institution with 29,272 students and more than 2,100 faculty members. KU’s main Lawrence campus is approximately 40 miles west of Kansas City, Missouri and home to vital cultural and business communities with an array of nationally recognized visual and performing arts venues. The Department of Design, employs more than 20 full-time faculty members and offers five undergraduate areas of study: Environmental Design, Industrial Design, Illustration and Animation, Photo Media and Visual Communication at the undergraduate level and two MA degrees in Interaction Design and Design Management. The graduate programs were launched in 2008, and have produced numerous graduates currently employed by top corporations and consultancies.
