With the collaboration of the Concept Technologyc firm, a relationship of collaborative project is established. Inserted into the audio-visual media, they have the know how in these kind of projects, delivering a professional support to the project.
Design Alternatives/Conceptual Map Conceptualization The DRK Project starts around the ARRI 35.III Camera. It was integrally developed in parts, elements and pieces of an underwater shell, taking the functional and formal requirements proposed by "Concept Technologyc" to an end.
Shell deconstruction / digital models Deconstruction Every piece and screws are made out of Inox steel. Every aluminium piece inside the shell are anodizated. The two halves of the shell part, both forefront and background, are tied by safety locks made out of special steel, sealed by a ring or thread.
Lens control interface/ digital models FollowFocus. Specially designed for the Arri 35-III, the external controls of this shell are directly linked with the lens gears. When connected, the transmission to the gears of the system exactly adjust to the diafragm and focus of the film camera.
Camera Accesibility/ Digital Models Accessory Parts Exchange The lens control (Focus and Diafragm) are located in the left side of the camera, and the user is able to see and adjust them easily. For the battery or chassis changes (film), the camera shell can stay linked to the front of the cover without dismounting the Follow Focus or disconnecting the sound or video assist unit.
External Surface / Design Development External Protection It has a carbon fiber protection. This high quality treatment of the external surface makes the shell specially resistant to impacts, waterproof, oil proof and to the sea solvents. It is totally submergible, it's neutral and it perfectly balances the weight, which is equally distributed through the system, for the user's absolute control.
