For VHS: Viral - I was responsible for adding a series of police lighting to passing police cars. Something they really couldn't catch on-location. I also added lighting to the ground and objects in the scene, including people's faces. Added a "VHS look" to various shots and monitor replacements.
Worked on a series of ten or so shots where the movie begins to thicken. We replaced the tracking markers on Apple Laptop screens to show a video. The shots had to look like they were really in the scene so we had to create reflections in the screen and just enough glow to add realism.
For the film, "Traveler" the time traveler had a watch that lit up and all the elements had to be added by hand. In this particular shot, the hologram pops out as he reads how much time he has to get back to his time machine. The effect was created with several layers in after effects and motion-tracked to the action. A light was cast on his face during the shoot so that it would appear that the hologram was really there.
In every shot, the watch had to "glow" which was painstaking, frame by frame work...
The Nazi Bell (time machine) was really just a green "x" on the rock face when we filmed. It shot took months to create and started with designing the bell and then building a 3D model in 3Ds Max. Lighting measurements were taken the day we shot the scene so that the light created on the bell could be duplicated to make it look amazingly real.
Spent a year creating all the visual effects for the film, "Enclosure" - Directed By Patrick Rea. Composting creatures shot against green screen into live action plates, adding smoke effects, gun fire, and fire.

Visual Effects

I have developed some visual effects for not only my own short film, but for some Hollywood-based films as well. The job could have been adding lights on police cars or an image on a monitor that is moving, with the end result being that you cannot tell the shot was altered at all. We have a busy 2015 coming up with working on "Paramedics" and a lot of extensive 3D work for the film, "Faceless", and "Enclosure" With all visual effects, we work closely with Producers and Directors to get their final visions using After Effects, Maya, and 3DsMax.
