I created these icons for Inventor Content Center by first sampling the existing folders and creating a template.
I was then able to add graphics on top, either from the internet or created inside Inventor itself. The icons are very small so I tried to keep them as simple as possible to make it easy to navigate.
Within the folders are the various families of parts. I created these icons within the boundaries of the icon size and tried to make them as bold as possible. For families that included different materials, I used Photoshop to add a tint to zinc or black bolts, or add PVC cladding to rollers.

Content Center Icons

We created a lot of custom content within Autodesk Inventor and I set about making custom icons for all the folders and families to make it easier to navigate.
