About this Opportunity:
As a User Experience Design Lead, you'll be responsible for setting the vision to establish holistic user experiences across Herman Miller. You will lead a small team of internal User Experience Designers and external partners to create user research documents, recommendations, and low-fidelity prototypes. You'll also use design thinking techniques to facilitate a shared understanding of an ideal enterprise-wide customer experience.

-Bring tactical and strategic leadership to guide the work of Content Strategists and User Researchers.
-Collaborate with a cross-functional team of Designers, Developers, Product Owners, and Marketing to translate business requirements into thoughtful digital strategy.
-Create process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and presentations as needed to effectively communicate design intent.
-Facilitate the creation of user journey maps and service design blueprints that enable the organization to meaningfully address our customers' problems.
-Facilitate user research labs with external users.
-Foster a culture of customer-centered design throughout the organization.
-Gather qualitative research into regular reports to drive the continuous improvement of our digital products and platforms.
-Lead the work of content strategy and information architecture with internal and external resources.
-Write user stories in conjunction with Product Designers, Product Managers, and development partners.
-Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

You might be just who we're looking for if you have...
-A Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Design, or a related field.
-Eight or more years of experience as a User Experience Designer, Interaction Designer, Information Architect, or similar role.
-Prior experience participating in and/or leading cross-functional project teams.
-The ability to create user-centered design solutions.
-An expert ability to utilize and work with interactive prototyping tools.
A deep understanding of the contemporary digital ecosystem.
-The ability to translate business requirements into effective digital strategies.
-A demonstrated high level of written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to communicate information, ideas, procedures, and processes in a logical sequence and at a level appropriate to the audience, resulting in effective working relationships.
-The ability to effectively partner with and influence internal business partners on decision-making and creative concepts.
-A demonstrated ability to effectively use the office automation, communication, software, and tools currently used in the Herman Miller office environment.
-The ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.
