As a Design Engineer at Perch, you will be responsible for designing and engineering the physical displays that manifest the Perch experience in the physical world. You will be working closely with the Product Manager and CTO to envision new designs and opportunities that seamlessly integrate our sensing technology with both high end and mass market retail displays. With your experience in creating low-cost high-impact displays, along with your eye for detail, you will help create a scalable product that can be sold in quantities from 5 to 500. By leveraging your understanding of technical requirements and strong communication skills, you will help our partners and fabricators integrate Perch into their own fixtures.

Design and develop interactive displays that package Perch technologies into common retail fixtures
Create modular components to integrate Perch into pre-existing store displays
Guide partners who want to integrate Perch technology into their own fixtures
Actively reduce fabrication costs while maintaining a high quality product. (Value Engineering)
Communicate with vendors and suppliers for technology and hardware
Reduce fabrication costs of Perch units
Create drawings and design standards that help fabricators integrate Perch technology into their enclosures with minimal guidance
Design semi-standard units that can be configured and customized without having to re-engineer them from scratch.
Improved out of box hardware reliability
3 or more years of Designing and Engineering retail displays ranging from low cost fixtures to high end cases and cabinets
Experienced at integrating technology in physical environments
Able to understand and engineer common retail fabrication methods (Sheet metal, CAD/CAM,
Significant skill in 3D CAD modelling, especially Solidworks and Rhino
Great eye for detail
Good at communicating engineering details to technical and non technical people
Familiarity with digital signage is a plus
