Role Objective:
The Creative Director - Gaming will direct and oversee campaigns with multiple high-profile accounts. The Creative Director will work with a multi-disciplinary team and is responsible for the creative strategy and direction for gaming brands. In collaboration with art directors, designers, copywriters, account and strategy teams, the Creative Director - Gaming ensures the quality of the concept and work produced and presents that work to the client.

The Creative Director - Gaming is able to craft stories and elevate brands through campaign-level thinking and execution. The Creative Director - Gaming leads and presents the ideation and design of engaging experiences through extraordinary print, digital, social, video and experiential programs. Pushing creative excellence while mentoring staff talent is essential. The Creative Director - Gaming will also be responsible for managing creative budget and working with account team to manage deadlines.

Specific Accountabilities:

• Direct creative development and implementation of 360, print, digital, social, video and experiential campaigns and programs
• Lead and manage creative brainstorms, offering guidance and input as it relates to client/project objectives
• Manage and mentor internal and external creative team members to deliver best in class creative and translate concepts into effective designs
• Skillfully interpret and address client expectations with core creative team members
• Oversee design of campaign eco-systems across multiple touch points
• Collaborate with Strategists and Account Team to achieve campaign/client success
• Present materials to clients with confidence, clarity, and personality
• Assume ownership of all campaigns/projects with minimal oversight
• Contribute to the innovative development of the creative department
• Manage and develop talent, systems and processes to deliver great creative work against client briefs, schedules and budgets
• Incorporate business strategy and consumer insights into concepts and designs
• Evaluate and share current creative and marketing trends
• Support the Midnight Oil brand vision and platform
• Perform additional duties as assigned


Skills and Knowledge Required:
• A positive, can-do attitude with high level dedication and collaborative spirit
• Ultimate client satisfaction mentality and approach
• Hands-on designer, with advanced knowledge of industry-standard production software (digital, web, print, video etc.)
• Strong foundation in typography, layout, UX/UI and event/presentation design
• Experience in managing and motivating staff with the ability to communicate creative direction effectively
• Superb ability to communicate with cross-functional groups while translating project objectives and timelines
• Expert at translating creative & consumer insights into actionable creative strategies that drive business results
• Clear, compelling and charismatic presenter in internal and external settings
• Passionate collaborator with strategic and creative teams to benefit Midnight Oil and our clients
• Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems before they arise
• Ability to articulate and discuss creative concepts in a clear, rational, and thoughtful manner
• A refined eye for visual design and creative storytelling
• Must be hands-on creative, self-starter, and innovative thinker

• Ability to adapt, plan, and organize in a constantly changing environment
• Ability to lead multiple teams across multiple accounts

• Deep understanding of games, gaming platforms and gaming marketing
• A refined eye for visual design and creative storytelling
• Experience in & passion for all key creative areas: print, branding, graphic design, digital, social, experiential, copywriting, video and advertising

Experience Required:
• Proven leadership experience
• Strong creative portfolio with 12+ years work experience in art direction, copy writing,and/or graphic design
• Minimum 3 years experience as a creative leader
• Extensive knowledge and experience developing integrated campaigns, requiring imagination and or talent skills sets.
• Strong visual, written and image-making skills and ability to articulate and communicate concepts and ideas
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field
