RPG is a multi-disciplinary design/build firm specializing in point of sale and retail environments. Our clients range from emerging start-ups to established corporate brands. While many of our clients are cosmetic, fragrance or personal care brands, we work with a diverse client base that includes fashion, food, beverage, jewelry and technology brands. We are currently looking for a Designer to join our creative and development team in the heart of Manhattan. As part of the team, you will be tasked with designing and executing brand and retailer specific concepts. Typical projects include counter top displays, floor fixtures, end-caps and shop-in-shops for an exciting array of brands in both the prestige and mass retail channels. The ideal candidate should have an Industrial Design or POP design background along with a solid understanding of merchandising and displaying product.
We have a fast paced and dynamic studio and you will work with the best in the industry. You will be exposed to every aspect of product development from briefing to client presentation, as well as being engaged with the development and production teams in the manufacturing process.
+ Conceptualize and design retail displays, fixtures and environments
+ Create mood and vision boards
+ Research brands and consumer trends on a project basis
+ Prepare design control drawings for development team
+ Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design and develop projects and take them to manufacturing
+ Preparation of art mechanicals
+ Strong aesthetic sensibility and able to visually and verbally communicate through sketches, renderings and presentations
+ Strong foundation of materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes and the passion to learn more
+ Self-motivated and able to work with aggressive development schedules
+ Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite
+ Proficient in 2D/3D computer software programs (e.g. Graphite, VectorWorks, Rhino or SketchUp)
+ Basic understanding of graphic applications
+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels
+ Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent
+ 3-5 years of professional experience
