We are looking for a Senior Industrial Designer to join our team in our Denver, CO global headquarters so if any of this sounds interesting to you, please read on.

In the Senior Industrial Designer position, you will be a positive contributing force to the Boa Product Development team and are responsible for leading the creation of concepts that address user needs in categories where Boa currently does not have adequate solutions. These will often be new solutions, and may serve new or existing categories. You will work directly with your product team, specifically the Product Line Leads, the Product Marketing Managers, Engineers and Project Managers to support or lead product development projects. With minimal need for oversight or review, you will create and execute plans for exploration of concepts, concept prototyping and validation, and thoroughly documenting and presenting those concepts to multidisciplinary stakeholders. As a basis for concepts, you will be the voice of the consumer - conducting research, identifying feature opportunities and product needs, and validating concepts, while balancing those needs against manufacturing and organizational constraints.
As a Senior Industrial Designer, you will typically be the primary industrial design resource on your product team. You will be expected to complete technical Industrial Design tasks with minimal to no oversight. You will also be responsible for strategic tasks – including but not limited to, the development and execution of the Industrial Design approach – with feedback and input from other members of the Boa design team.

Basic Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Industrial Design phases of Boa Product Development projects, of all size and scope, including:
Participation in consumer, user, and market research, via desktop and field research.
ID and UI/UX concept development to satisfy:
Project opportunities and goals as stated in the project brief
End-user needs and opportunities, both explicit and implicit, including aesthetic, human factors and ergonomic needs.
Manufacturing and implementation requirements and constraints.
Brand factory installation, including lace-ability
Active engagement in project brainstorms; concept or product evaluation.
Collaboration with other Boa departments to understand product needs.
Product graphic design
Champion end-user needs and balance those needs against production and go-to-market realities.
Create support and communication collateral as required throughout the design and implementation process, in 2D and 3D:
Inspiration and research boards
Use cases for specific user categories and applications
2D Concept sketching and communication
Functional breadboard concept models
3D CAD, appropriate fidelity to project stage, from loose concept CAD to final tooling-release CAD, using recommended techniques and standards.
CAD Renders, Conceptual images in-application on relevant product for project and catalog purposes
Install Boa parts via available prototyping methods.
Product storyboards for research use.
Vector art for distribution to customers and consumers.
Stewardship of design intent from sketch to CAD to Molded part.
Assist in review and approval of T1-R1 series part samples, as related to Industrial Design intent.
Support Sales, Marketing, or other departments’ design needs, on occasion and upon request.
Positively represent Boa design, through Advocacy and Relationship-building, both internally and externally
Engage in a pro-active form of continuing education with advisement from the senior design staff and your Manager.
Develop Industrial Design project approach, on a project-specific basis, to meet the needs and goals of small- and medium-scale projects, with oversight and feedback from senior staff:
Critically assess project briefs, and contribute to refinement via questions and suggestions.
Define Activities, Timeline, Resource Requirements, Reviews, and Deliverables:
Conduct and Manage ID portion of project, per approach developed above.
Coordinate and communicate with internal and external team members and stakeholders as needed to coordinate resources, complete work, inform of progress and changes.
Document process and results
Partner with Product Marketing Manager of Product Line Team to understand product strategy and segmentation plan, and underlying needs from the Commercial team.
Conceptually explore, evaluate, and recommend product design attributes, as they relate to form, function, UI/UX, human factors, ergonomics, aesthetic, manufacturing requirements, and project goals.


Education: BS/BFA in Industrial Design
Experience: 4+ Years of applicable experience in Industrial Design.

Proficient in typical Industrial Design tools and skills, including but not limited to: 2D sketching in analog and digital formats, Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Illustrator, 3D CAD (Solidworks) solid and surfacing, CAD rendering (Keyshot)
Proficient in typical office software tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Excel. Experience in Sharepoint a plus.
Continued Training and Education as needed and/or available in tactical software use. (Adobe, SWX, OneNote, SharePoint, Project, PLM, PWA, PDM, and other office products)
Requires the ability to travel to overseas and domestic locations occasionally.
