Assist the Design team in creating innovative and unique product that meets the needs of the Men’s, Women’s and Kid’s Global Value Channel consumer and embodies the Brand Purpose and Creative Vision. The Associate Designer will be responsible for applying seasonal creative direction, new concept ideation, upper pattern design, materialization, technical packages, color rotations and meeting key calendar deadlines.
Design and create footwear concepts on existing collections through pattern, color and material application. 20% of time involved and relative importance 5 - Very High
Research, gather and present trend inspiration to support concepts created that are relevant to key accounts, target consumers and specific global regions. 20% of time involved and relative importance 4 - High
Create and apply new print and graphic solutions to footwear concepts. 10% of time involved and relative importance 3 - Medium
Present project concepts, trends and inspirational stories in internal reviews. 10% of time involved and relative importance 4 - High
Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) to visualize and present accurate artwork and photo realistic concepts. Provide and communicate detailed tech information for each project solution. 20% of time involved and relative importance 5 - Very High
Collaborate with Design, Product Management, and Footwear Development teams to execute project direction, product process, cost targets and deliverable's. 10% of time involved and relative importance 4 - High
Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects using time management skills and organization to keep work on track to meet delivery date requirements. 10% of time involved and relative importance 4 - High
1-3 years of related professional experience
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Art or a related field or Associates of Art degree from an accredited art school with experience in a design environment
Proficient with Illustrator and Photoshop preferably in Mac environment. 3D Modeling and rendering experience or potential to learn. Other basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Products.
Experience with leather, textiles, graphic, color, footwear or apparel.
Strong communication skills, and ability to communicate concepts with digital renderings. Ability to contribute and generate ideas with Designers.
Ability to respond quickly to multiple projects with strong time management skills. Strong ability to set priorities and manage deadlines.
Highly organized, with a critical eye for detail.
Ability to work and build relationships with cross-functional teams.
Domestic travel 5%-10% of the time
