True Brands continues to grow rapidly, and our industrial design department is a key part of that growth. We are seeking an experienced and passionate industrial designer to boost our creative horsepower.

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

-Understand and support each of the brand strategies
-Design & develop distinct, innovative products in accordance with design briefs
-Collaborate with Product Development and Brand teams to deliver products that meet functional, aesthetic, and cost requirements
-Create or update design language guides for each brand
-Provide technical communication and support for the Product Development team
-Help Brand Managers to vet feasibility of product roadmaps
-Effectively communicate concepts through verbal, visual, and written means, both internally and externally
-Stay informed of trends and the competitive landscape in order to drive innovation
-Review and test competitor products—report on strengths and opportunities
-Create mock-ups and involve 3D print prototype file preparation
-Create product specifications for materials, assembly, and CMF
-Follow through and maintain design intent and integrity in manufacturing
-Prioritize and manage multiple design projects
-Help drive team design and innovation sessions (e.g. brainstorms, storyboarding, and concepting)
-Provide mentorship to junior team members, helping to develop their skill sets.
-Travel domestically or internationally, as needed (up to 15%)

Desired Skills & Experience:

-4-7 years working as an industrial designer, including some consumer goods experience
-Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design
-Strong sketching and CAD skills
-Hands-on prototyping
-Clear communication of design concepts through strong visuals and oral presentation
-Strong team dynamics - collaboration is essential to our industrial design department
-Self-driven with strong time management skills
-Familiarity with materials and manufacturing processes, esp. plastic and metal
-Ability to work in a fast-paced, interactive, multi-disciplinary team
-The desire to know how things work & how to make them work better

Software Proficiency:

-SolidWorks experience required
-Keyshot
-3D printing experience is a plus
-Adobe Creative Suite
