Loyola Marymount University’s Marketing and Communications department has an opening for a Graphic Designer. The Graphic Designer is a of an integrated, multidisciplinary creative team that produces the university’s signature and award-winning creative.

Additional responsibilities include: developing visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate, and executing creative solutions that integrate with the university’s visual identity, brand platform, and design standards. The Graphic Designer works closely with colleagues and communicators in University Advancement and across disciplines to assess needs, goals, audiences and desired outcomes. The Graphic Designer produces design strategies and layout ideas with impact that addresses objectives and will elevate the university’s image. This position is an integrated member of Advancement Communications and the university’s creative and design teams. The Graphic Designer must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually-intense, and service-oriented environment while adjusting to changing demands and shifting priorities.

We seek candidates who typically possess a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or advertising. Minimum 3 years of related graphic and/or web design experience. We prefer candidates to have agency and/or higher education experience. Successful candidates must be able to follow direction from an art director and work collaboratively with graphic artists, marketing, and communications team members. Experience brainstorming ideas and concepts for new design projects and executing them within the context of an institutional brand, communication, and marketing strategy is a must. We also prefer candidates to have experience working within a comprehensive graphic identity, and experience with WordPress and web content management systems. Expert level experience in Adobe Creative Suite and a deep understanding of best practices in print and web design and is needed.
