My rough cover. The little Cubist girl Sara will take on a larger role in my rewrite and be around 20-years-old now.
ARCADIA is a retrofuturist action thriller about the technically advanced island city called Arcadia created by billionaire Richard Landolt. His hard-edged, persistent agent son, Thomas, must find a medical prototype device that has been stolen which can cure his estranged father of the same deadly plague that has infected the thousands of immigrants who have traveled there from around the world to be healed.
The immigrants are not the most welcomed by the Arcadians, especially by Agent Landolt, and some threaten the safety of the city. Thomas’s own bureau of agents becomes outlawed by Arcadia’s president who brutally hunts the diversely racial newcomers.
During Thomas’s assignment he experiences head splitting voices from his soon to be dead father, via neural implants secretly injected into his body, which causes severe anxiety attacks that impedes his journey. The esculating friction between father and son tears open old wounds. Father and son must put their differences aside, use new technologies and resourceful inspirations to achieve each other’s objectives.
Thomas becomes the hunted, clashing with the immigrants in the outer edges of the city to finally to ally by planning an underwater heist inside a gigantic skyscraper. ARCADIA is an action packed, sophisticated, and epic thriller that twists a sense of wonder and fear into a story that examines our own hopes for a better tomorrow.
An update of my Anderson Airways liner. Named after Thunderbird's creator Gerry Anderson.
A work in progress of an underwater laboratory.
Screenwriting awards for Arcadia in 2017
A layout that I did in Photoshop which takes place in Germantown. Agent Thomas Landolt hides from several thugs and rescued by Sara (now older). Thomas reluctantly pairs up with Sara and discovers her to be an amazing resource.
A set piece called Ravenswood that I did in Photoshop for Arcadia. Atop Oceana Tower is a floating hotel that is a mini island. Part of the hotel separates and becomes a submarine which descends into the water inside the tower which contains new forms of sea life. Attached to the tower is the forest where members of Arcadia hunt bio engineered prey and people.
An early inspiration board for Arcadia to help create a retro future vibe for the art that I plan to create. The story in screenplay format is finished.
