Tetrasoft - This new comfort innovation I designed and developed was made for a new Clarks men's athleisure range of shoes using textile uppers at a lower price point.
I conceived the idea of using interlocking the outsole and footbed with conical shapes to achieve two goals-
1) A footbed that does not move and cause friction/heat build up during the walking/running gait cycle.
2) A sole structure that expands as force is applied in the walking/running gait cycle and allows the foot to spread and also collapse slightly to absorb shock.
A progression from the original tennis style to a more running inspired sneaker using the same Tetrahedron patterned footbed and incorporating it in a new more athletic looking outsole.
