Bamboo workshop at Ukkai - Woven Furniture
A short workshop with artisans from a weaving community in south Gujarat. The baskets woven here had superior strength and it was noted that a single basket turned upside down could easily support the weight of an adult, approx. 60kgs, standing on it.
The furniture designed considered all these factors to form furniture pieces staying true to the craft and technique.
