Dancing Flowers - this piece is a symbol of my personality- bubbly, fun and colorful
Hands - Multiple hands doing multiple tasks- done in pencil
DoodlePro - An admired childhood toy- done in pencil
Glass Jar and Bottle - I love working with colored charcoal on black charcoal paper- the bright pigments just pop out
Samples of Figure Drawing - Figure Drawing is certainly a challenge for me, but I feel that I made great progress throughout the year. Mixed media- charcoal, pastel and watercolor
Melting Ice Cream - I chose to use charcoal for this piece to articulate the detail in the sprinkles and the melting of the ice cream. As well as being my favorite dessert, ice cream for me symbolizes the happiness of a hot summers day and a carefree attitude.
Juicy Watermelon Slices - I focused on the different colors that the viewer doesn’t notice at first, like orange and purple mixed into the pink flesh of the melon. I picked this watermelon picture because it had an interesting use of space and the slices for interesting angles that create movement in the piece.
Origami Birds - This piece was a process- draw flying objects on a piece of paper: planes, hot air balloons... next, fold the paper into an origami bird. Finally, draw the origami bird. Phew!
Study of Three Objects - We were told to create an interesting space with three different objects. Reflecting the wooden mannequin onto the mirror created an unique and curious point of view.
Fruit Tart - A zoomed in view of a delicious fruit tart done in colored charcoal on grey paper.
Skeleton - Drawing a skeleton from observation over several hours- warning, must be extremely patient to do this project!
