Wireless charging for mobile devices in hotel guest rooms is fast becoming a standard amenity.
The objective was to create a Qi fast charging alarm clock optimized for hotel use, that featured 2 fast charging USB ports.
The goal was to be sleek and compact. I was inspired by the
Apple HomePod's clean aesthetic. Heat was a huge concern. Venting and Qi coil placement were critical to its success.
It is a Bluetooth Stereo Speaker with Single Day Alarm and a custom LCD. The pre-set Alarm Clock features a Daylight Savings Time switch to automatically or manually adjust the clock at the start or end of DST.
Instructions are printed on the cabinet for easy guest alarm setting. There is a volume limiter switch to adjust for large and small rooms.
