Duyfken
Duyfken - Duyfken was a small Dutch ship built in the Netherlands. It was the first European ship to encounter the Australian mainland.
It is a sculptural piece constructed using traditional elements such as Oregon, linen rope and joinery and fixtures used commonly throughout ships during the 18th and 19th centuries.
The chair is juxtaposed with slight expressions of modernism and the dominant features of historical ships.
