Car Wash (Role- Contract Design Architect)

The design intent was to create an open, safe and transparent environment that would eliminate the often claustrophobic experience of car wash tunnels. The high and open translucent tubes are especially appealing to small children who would ask their parents to go to this car wash and thereby, along with other factors, significantly increase the customer base and market share for the client. For research, I read case studies and business plans of CarWash companies.

A local architectural firm retained my services with a six-month contract to provide marketing and business development service in addition to designing this car wash. 90% or more of the original design was maintained. Changes included solid panels instead of translucent one for the equipment room. The heated solution would have avoided the build-up of ice during the winter. The original straight, vertical covers for the pay-station were changed to the current curved ones.
