Tim Bryant was a great client to work with. Together we worked to create a sharp, memorable design for his startup, Bryant Capital Group. Tim wanted his image to convey both his reliability and his competitive edge as a young financial adviser. To accomplish this I struck a balance between classical and contemporary design. Using a simple black and white color scheme I provided Tim with a logo that works on multiple levels. It can be printed in reverse, with white lettering on a black card. The encircled 'B' can be used on its own to represent the Bryant name, and was hand kerned to add uniqueness to the brand. Please see the following image for examples of this design on stationary and other business materials.
I created this graphic for consideration when Android was revamping the look and feel of Dolphin, their trademark internet browser. Though it didn't become their new image, I was proud of both my slogan and my design. The objective was to present Android's browser in a fresh light, emphasizing it's unparalleled performance and improved speed. To achieve this I wrapped the iconic Dolphin image around an unknown planet far outside of Earth's orbit, reinforcing this by placing a smaller Earth in the background. Light blue and vibrant green were chosen to give an airy feel. The green was also used to draw a visual connection to Microsoft's other very popular product, the XBOX360. I really enjoyed working on this project, and would welcome the chance to work on similar jobs.
Mike's Custom Upholstery is a small family owned business. Their upholstery services cover everything from speed boats to standard cars and rugged all terrain vehicles. I was approached to create a door magnet that would go onto the sides of all company vehicles. The design needed to be simple, but stylish; a design that would stand out on the road or on future shirts and business cards. As an added challenge, this project was to be presented as a special father's day surprise from son to dad! Speed and discretion were key in this situation. We went with a minimal palette. The orange 'M' done in a garage style font grabs your attention while the outlined image of a speeding car brings the subject into focus. Finally, a large print for the contact number ensures the most important function of this advert will reach its audience. Plans to expand the business are underway. I'd happily work with this family of entrepreneurs again.
These three retro themed designs were made for a group of musicians starting their own online music zine under the name Rock Research Organization. To get the right look for this project I referenced several old science fiction posters and educational materials from the 60's and 70's era. With the right balance of color and subtle iconic imagery we achieved a 'frontier science' feel. This project was so much fun. I'd love to work with this group again.
S.C.D. is a podcast created and presented by Brandon Schieber, voice actor and musician. Mr. Scheiber wanted a 'Monty Python-esque' design featuring quirk, charm, and his signature bowler graphic. For this project I created three designs. First up is the logo for Something Completely Different. In keeping with the name, this logo is definitely something compeltely different. To capture the desired feel I combined alien like qualities with a sense of playful sex appeal. This long legged, high heeled cyclopse wearing Schieber's signature bowler works well as both logo and mascot for the podcast. The second design truly captures the zany, hodge-podge aesthetic of Terry Gilliam's work on Monty-Python. This image is intended for web use, as well as on any merchandise the show creates. The final image shown here is for use on letterheads and business cards, but also works as an alternate logo.
